Okay...so many of us vendors at the Market are also Farmers, so we want rain. But, none of us want rain on Market Day. We had just plucked our tails off all day preparing our produce, goods and getting our stands up and ready for you our customers, when guess what to our wondering ears should we hear? You guessed it, the thunder and clapping of a huge Rain Storm. Yep, that was our dilemma at the Tuesday June 13th Market. Market, POP Club and our Guest Chef, Ashlee were all rained out.. Don't worry folks, many of our Market Vendors are more than welcome to get you their products anytime you are in need. You can find Clawson's Sugar Bush Maple Syrup at Clawson's Appliances. Holy Cow Farm Fresh Meats at their store on 231 outside of Monon. Musall's Fresh Produce, Jams, Jellies and Preserves can be found at Musall's Lawn & Garden Center. Also, you can comment or send us a message and we will get you hooked up with the right vendor ie... Theresa with Harvest of the Fields, Duane with D's Deals, Natalie or Henry with H & N Farms and Carly with Rebecca Foundation or there is always Saturday's Market. You didn't miss out on the food demo, because Chef Ashlee will be at Market on Tuesday June 20th to retry her food demo of Chicken Fajitas, Salad in a Jar and Strawberry Infused Water all made from produce and meats from our vendors. Check out the POP Club that Tuesday as well, Duane will be leading up a Physical Challenge Course, Andrew Westfall with Purdue Extension will be there and you teens won't want to miss the Teen Minute to Win It. On another note...in a few weeks you will be able to find Fair Oaks Cheese, Smoked Sausage and Beef Sticks at Market, right in the Musall's Fresh Produce booth and it also sounds as if we may have Whyte Horse Winery as guest vendor in a few weeks! Things are happening at Market Folks, come join us and continue to buy fresh, buy local!
The 2017 Monticello Farmers Market is upon us and the start has been very eventful! Our first Saturday Market was rained out, but the very next Saturday our Market Customers were very faithful with a total 80 strong. POP club started Tuesday June 6th with an amazing total Customer base of 145 and 46 kids signing up for POP club. During POP Club we were able to award our Digital Logo Contest Winner, North White Student Emma Lang with a Certificate and $50.00 American Express Gift Card. Get ready for next week folks, because we get to start our Food Demonstrations! Our guest Chef will be preparing Fajitas, Salad in a Jar and Strawberry Infused Water. Woohoo! I'm super excited for this year! We have tons of great opportunities for those kiddos at POP Club. Take note that the White County WIC office will be distributing Farmers Market WIC checks on Monday June 26th. Always remember, Keep it Fresh and Keep it Local,
